Royal Oak Dental

Since 2004, Royal Oak Dental has been providing families in our neighbourhood with dentistry in a warm and welcoming environment. Here at Royal Oak Dental, your health is our top priority!

We will always make sure you are informed about all your options and comfortable with the treatment you receive, so that you and your family will be confident that you have received the care you expect at the high standards we set for ourselves.

Fees

In 2017, the Alberta Dental Association and College unveiled a new dental fee guide for our province—the first of its kind in twenty years. Starting 2018, Royal Oak Dental Clinic is proud to announce that we are Fee Guide Compliant.

With the new dental fee guide, you can feel comfortable going to the dentist knowing that you’re paying exactly what you’re supposed to pay. Take a look below to see the new Royal Oak Dental fees.

Services

Invisalign

Invisalign straightens your teeth with a series of custom-molded aligners without bands, brackets or wires.

Change them about every 2 weeks, your teeth will move—little by little, week by week—until they have moved to their final position.

Comfortable to wear, our aligners are also removable so you can eat, drink, brush, and floss as usual.

iTero

iTero is an intraoral scanner. Using a small wand the iTero takes thousands of pictures of your mouth stitching them together and creating a three-dimensional image of your teeth. iTero is also compatible with Invisalign and has an Invisalign Outcome Simulator. Showing you the future results of your liners.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are artificial roots placed to replace missing teeth. We can virtually place an implant in your jaw using our 3D scan and then have a guide fabricated that helps to place the implant in your mouth in the exact same way that we planned. This can help the procedure be more predictable. After your bone integrates and “locks” into the implant for a few months, you would be ready for the crown or replacement tooth.

Myobrace

Modern research shows that crooked teeth and poor jaw development are not caused by hereditary factors.

Myobrace® focuses on treating the underlying causes, unlocking natural growth and development.

Used by dentists and orthodontists in over 100 countries Myobrace® has successfully treated millions of children worldwide.

Botox

Botox acts to reduce the movement of muscles that can wrinkles. The result is more youthful, smoother appearing skin.
Botox can also be used to relax the muscles that are active in tooth grinding, thereby stopping or reducing the bruxism. This helps protect the teeth from strong grinding forces and reduces muscle pain.

Family Dentistry

We aim for happy visits for your inquisitive little one. We’re happy to see your kids here at Royal Oak for routine exams, cleaning, and filling appointments. We follow the Canadian Dental Association’s guideline by recommending an appointment within 6 months of the eruption of the first tooth or by one year of age.

Laser Hygiene Therapy

Lasers can be used to reduce the number of harmful bacteria in and around your gums. to perform various minor gum surgeries needed to optimize outcomes of fillings and crowns, or to improve the appearance of overgrown gum around the front teeth.

Extractions

When a tooth declines to the point that we can’t save it, we may recommend that it be removed so that it does not cause further pain or damage to adjacent teeth. We strive to make our extractions as quick and low-stress as possible. You’ll have the option of grafting the extraction site if you wish to replace the tooth with an implant in the future.

Galileos

3D dental x-rays now allow your dentist to get a three dimensional picture of your teeth & jaws.
This latest technology allows low-dose x-rays to be taken. Sophisticated software then turns this into a 3D image that can then be used to get a good look at what is going on inside your jaws and teeth. This reveals hidden problems or shows details that are not easily seen in older X-Rays

Sometimes when you aren’t feeling great about your self, your life or even your day it can be hard to take care of yourself. Practising self-care can mean a lot of different things. It can be bubble baths, cancelling plans, but it can also be as simple as brushing and flossing your teeth. A clean mouth can help you feel fresh and ready to take on anything.

It’s cold and snowy this week so how about we take a minute and look back on some good memories from last year! We plan socially conscious events throughout the year, and it surprised us all when we see what we’ve accomplished.

If you’ve heard that today, Jan 17th, is ‘Ditch the New Year’s Resolution Day’, we are here to tell you its time for a re-branding!! If you are following us, then of course ‘flossing daily’ was one of your resolutions. Well, don’t throw in the towel (or the floss) just yet! Even if you’ve missed a day or three already, keeping up with this just a little more regularly than in the past will pay great dividends to not just your oral health but your systemic wellness.
